Tired of War

My parents survived genocide.

The weight of a militarised brutal existence resides in me.

I saw it in another,

on the other side of the spectrum

and our worlds collided.

He was a militant, raised in elitist militancy — of the worse kind —

and I thought

maybe he is tired of War, just like me…

but I was wrong.

They want War. It is all they know.

It is their ethos. It is their ideology.

No olive branch extended a million times can change that.

And that is the difference

between good and evil.
